SEND Officer

Job Introduction

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced SEND Officer with a vision for inspirational education provision, who believes in unlimited opportunities for all children and to play a significant role in our strategic journey of supporting our portfolio of day nurseries.   You will join us on a full time basis, we are offering a salary of £28,000 along with a company car as extensive travel will be required.

We are seeking a very special person to join us.  Someone who:

  • holds an early years qualification at level three or above and has extensive, demonstrable experience of working in a similar role, it would be desirable if you held a SEND qualification
  • has excellent knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice, EYFS and statutory requirements
  • can lead the delivery of SEND training and forums, in conjunction with the SEND officer and senior quality and training advisors
  • will be the first line of contact for setting SENDco’s for advice and information as well as when completing referrals, EHCP’s and funded applications
  • will be the first line of support for SENDco’s and Key People when completing Initial Assessments, monitoring (or other such methods of assessment including the progress check at two) Action Plans and Target documents
  • is able to support with any admission arrangement for children with SEND which may include completing an access and inclusion walk and making recommendations
  • can contribute to innovative ideas and commitment to meeting the needs of our children
