Be the friendly face and organised heartbeat of our nursery.

As our Business Administrator, you’ll be at the centre of nursery life – welcoming families and visitors, keeping our administration running smoothly and supporting the Nursery Manager and wider team.

You’ll build great relationships with our families, manage enquiries and records, support with invoices and payments, and make sure the important details are taken care of.

We’ve been delivering exceptional childcare since 1989. Across our 44 day nurseries, Head Office and Training Academy, EduBase, we believe we all belong, we all matter and we all contribute. We offer careers, not jobs, with opportunities to grow, develop and make a difference.

Why join us?

  • Generous annual leave: 23 days’ paid leave (pro-rata), rising to 28 days with length of service, plus paid bank holidays.

  • More time for you: Earn up to a further 20 paid days off each year through our Partnership Reward Days incentive – take the leave or sell the days you accrue, tax-free.

  • Childcare savings: Generously discounted childcare for your children or grandchildren, depending on your contracted hours.

  • Share in our success: As an employee-owned business, every colleague is a partner – and when we do well, you could receive an annual tax-free dividend.

  • Benefits that make a difference: Long-service rewards, qualification bonuses, retail discounts and free meals while at work.

  • Wellbeing support: Mental health and occupational health support, flu jabs, eye care vouchers and a free will-writing service.

  • Grow your career: Team inset days, online learning and apprenticeship opportunities through our Training Academy, EduBase.

What makes Childbase different?

  • We’re employee-owned. You’ll have a voice in our business and a stake in our success.
  • We’re number one. We’re ranked top of the Nursery World league tables for our Ofsted outcomes.
  • We give back. Together, we’ve raised more than £3.5 million for charity.
  • We care about our planet. Our nurseries hold Green Flag awards and are powered by 100% renewable energy.

You’ll be great in this role if you…

  • Love working with people. You’ll be the welcoming face of the nursery, confidently helping families and visitors in person, by phone and by email.

  • Are brilliantly organised. From family records and enquiries to invoices, ordering and diary management, you’ll keep things accurate, organised and on track.

  • Are confident with IT. You’re comfortable using computer-based systems, learning new processes and handling information accurately.

  • Have an eye for detail. You’ll manage important information relating to charges, discounts and nursery administration, where accuracy really matters.

  • Believe safeguarding comes first. You understand that every role in our nursery contributes to keeping children safe, happy and well.

  • Are a team player. You’ll work closely with the Nursery Manager and wider team, building positive relationships and stepping in wherever your organisational skills are needed.

Ready to bring your organisation, energy and people skills to a role where no two days are quite the same? We’d love to hear from you.

We’re an inclusive employer and welcome applicants of all ages and backgrounds. We’re committed to FREDIE – fairness, respect, equality, diversity, inclusion and engagement – and will consider any reasonable adjustments required.

If you meet the essential criteria for the role, your application will be automatically shortlisted for review by our Recruitment Team, who will determine whether an interview is the next step.

Applicants must currently live within a commutable distance of the nursery and have suitable Right to Work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Safer recruitment checks apply, including an Enhanced DBS check.
